90-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
From Napa’s famed Hayne Vineyard, the 2007 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard boasts a dark ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of spring flowers, blackberries, and truffles. Deep, full-bodied, and rich, it is best consumed over the next 7-8 years. Interestingly, winemaker Ehren Jordan said that in 2007 the natural alcohol levels ranged from a low of 15% to the high sixteens, but the wines were easy to vinify, and the freshness, vibrancy, and excellent focus most possess are vintage characteristics. 92 points Vinous
Good dark red. Superripe, slightly high-toned aromas and flavors of berries, spices, coffee, licorice and mocha. Very sweet, thick and even slightly liqueur-like on the palate, conveying a tactile quality and a salty complexity, with a hint of exotic stone fruits emerging with air. Darker fruit notes (suggestive of Petite Sirah?) slowly began to emerge with time in the glass but I find this wine hard to judge today--and not showing quite the verve or definition I found at the outset. For his part, winemaker Passalacqua describes 2007 and 2013 as two 'perfect-ripening vintages.' Drink 2019 - 2029. (ST) 92+ (5/2018)
